Space Envi turns your iPhone or iPod touch into a space museum, giving you easy, full-screen access to thousands of online astronomy photographs.

From Astronomy Pictures of the Day, to the early space missions, to the latest pictures from Mars, Space Envi displays Web-based space photos the way you would expect on the iPhone: full screen, with multi-touch controls, in automated slide shows.

Space Envi is based on the acclaimed iEnvision Web-image browser. iEnvision organizes images from the Web into indexed groups. With iEnvision not only can you view Web-based astronomy photos, but also art, comics, childrens books, manga, news, travel guides and more. You can also add and remove your own groups and sites.

Space Envi is a great way to begin exploring Web-based space imagery. If you want to start with a more advanced app, try Space Envi Deluxe. "An infinite space museum in your pocket," Space Envi Deluxe includes large archives from the Hubble telescope, the Kennedy Space Center, Earth Observatory and every mission of the Space Shuttle. It also lets you save images for future use.

Pros and cons of Space Envi app for iPhone and iPad

Space Envi app good for

How can u go wrong? Great pics... Only a dollar. If u are inspired by the beauty of space, download this
When I first used this I got all tied up in the "Getting Started" section. Avoid it, it seems to be mostly info about the full version. If you want pics go straight to the Astronomy section.
I would never thought that there would be so many galaxies. Cool app. There must be hundreds of planets in space waiting to be discover.
Amazing photos, a great app for space enthusiasts, a space museum in your pocket and loaded with lots of pictures. What a great app for 99 cents !
This app has the neatest pictures from hubble! I love it! I also have Planet Envi which is also cool and has tons of hubble photos of comet shoemaker=levy nine jupiter impacts. If youre into astronomy, these are two great apps.

Some bad moments

This app is essentially a collection of bookmarks to gallery and picture of the day websites, shown in a custom image viewer thats slow and choppy. None of the images seems to come with any kind of information about the image, which just makes it a very average web slideshow app. I feel like a lot of potential is missed here, and that the app misses the mark for even a buck.
